New Orleans' vampire story did not begin with Anne Rice, and it certainly does not end there. On this 90-minute evening walking tour, you will step into a city where whispered legends, archival records, and literary imagination overlap in surprising ways. Your licensed guide shares the facts behind the fiction as you explore tales of alleged real-life vampires woven into the fabric of New Orleans history. All ages welcome.
Departing at 8:30 PM, you will follow your guide through the French Quarter just as the streets shift from day to night. Standing before the Ursuline Convent, your guide reveals the chilling legend of the caskets that arrived from France, and what may have been inside them. You will trace the settings that brought Interview with the Vampire to life and hear the true story of the Carter Brothers. Along the way, you will start to see why this city, more than anywhere else in America, became the world's unofficial vampire capital.
Ideal for first-time visitors and anyone who has ever stayed up too late with a vampire novel. The pace is relaxed and the storytelling is engaging, so you can soak in the ambiance and ask questions without feeling rushed.
